Discontinuation of BRC20 and Runes Asset Support on the Official Bridge

Dear Bitlayer Community Users,
To further optimize the cross-chain bridging experience and streamline the asset portfolio on Bitlayer Network, we will discontinue support for BRC20 and Runes assets on the official Bitlayer Bridge, effective May 30, 2025.
We understand this may affect some users, and we are committed to ensuring a smooth and orderly transition.
1. What Is Changing
Starting May 30, 2025, the official Bitlayer Bridge will no longer support cross-chain transfers for the following asset types:
- BRC20 tokens (all BRC20-standard assets)
- Runes tokens (all Runes-standard assets)
After this date, deposit and withdrawal functions for BRC20 and Runes assets will be permanently disabled on the official bridge.
2. Timeline
- Now – May 29, 2025: BRC20 and Runes bridging services remain available. Users are advised to complete any pending cross-chain transfers before the deadline.
- May 30, 2025: BRC20 and Runes support is officially discontinued. All related bridging functions will be disabled.
3. What You Should Do Now
- If you have BRC20 or Runes assets on the bridge in transit, please ensure all transactions are finalized before May 29, 2025.
- If you hold BRC20 or Runes assets on Bitlayer, we strongly recommend bridging them back to the Bitcoin network via the official bridge before May 29, 2025. After the deadline, the cross-chain bridging function for these assets will be permanently disabled.
- For any questions or assistance, please contact the official Bitlayer community administrators.
4. Other Assets Not Affected
This change applies exclusively to BRC20 and Runes assets. All other supported assets (BTC, ETH, stablecoins, etc.) will continue to function normally on the official bridge.
Should you have any questions or require assistance, please reach out to the Bitlayer community via our official channels.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
